5 Tips For Planning An Event
Are you readying for a small event or a full-out bash? A little planning can go a long way. Here are some friendly pointers that could help you you break down the process.
1. Start Early
If you know what kind of event you want to plan, pick a date that is far enough in advance so that when you send out a guest list, people will have time to prepare.
2. Set a Guest List
It is important to know who you are planning the event for and what kind of event it is. For example, if it is more of a social event or if it a professional setting, you will have to prepare in different ways. After you send out invitations you can gauge how many people will be there, but when you set a guest list you can plan by assumption.
3. Book a Venue
You want to make sure you have enough space for your guests so they are not on top of each other. Once you get the RSVPs and have a confirmed number of guests, you can adjust to how big of a venue you need.
On the invitation make sure you ask people to indicate if they have any dietary restrictions and be sure to inform the venue or the caterer about those restrictions in advance. Even if you are overseeing the food yourself, you need to make sure extra precautions are taken for allergies and special diets. Another important thing is to make sure there is enough food for everyone and how the food is going to be presented to the guests.
It is important to find out how your guests will be arriving at the event. Will there be transportation provided for them or will they have to get to the venue themselves? Another thing is are they going to be staying at one venue the whole night or will they have to transport to a few different places in one night and if so will any transportation be available to them?
If you have all of these basic steps covered and you jazz up the occasion with your personality and special decorations, your event will definitely be one to remember!
